The image on the fabulous greeting card is a superb vintage netball made in Melbourne by the Moorabbin based company Nutting & Young. Apart from its distressed condition perhaps it is most notable for its name; 'Defender', as it is an exception to the 'attack/offence/forward' naming convention that seems to have hogged the limelight across most sports in more recent times.

The card is matt laminated, 350gsm & when folded measures 15cm x 15cm. It comes with an accompanying envelope & protective plastic wrapper. (Image shows back of card at right).

Unlike 'club' jumpers, these were all made for 'rep' teams; national, state and league. As a recognition of each player's individual excellence at a moment in time, donning these jumpers with their specially chosen brethren was invariably a proud moment & hence 30 - 40 years later many are still retained by their owners as a symbol of their playing careers.

The image on this Tea Towel shows Kerry Hoole's Tour Leader's jersey from the 1970 Tour of the Hunter. Kerry who won the event 5 times over the course of his career was also dual Australian national road race winner in 1966 and '73.
